Overcoming Complex Data Challenges
If your inventory tracking or invoicing feels too siloed for the market, you aren’t alone. We plug into your systems to instantly eliminate the sector’s most persistent data friction points:
- Inventory & Costing Gaps: Reconciling fragmented inventory valuations and complex costing data gaps across disparate warehouse platforms.
- Mismatched Units & Hierarchies: Aligning inconsistent units of measure (UOM) and non-uniform product hierarchies across legacy transaction records.
- Opaque Pricing & Demand: Surfacing hidden gaps in net pricing, customer rebates, and off-invoice discounts while correcting demand forecasting noise.
Deep Analytics, Built for Scrutiny
We go far beyond basic financial overviews to deliver the granular, SKU-level insights that drive institutional enterprise valuation:
- Margin & Volume Dynamics: Revenue, gross margin, and volume trends are cleanly mapped by product type, SKU group, facility, and customer segment.
- Price-Volume-Mix (PVM): Clear evaluation isolating exactly how much your profit fluctuates based on raw price adjustments versus volume shifts.
- Cohort & Account Health: Multi-year tracking that maps clear account retention, expansion, downsell, and true customer lifetime value (LTV).
- Commercial & Transactional Economics: Granular visibility into ASP, AOV, order frequency, sales rep productivity, and SKU rationalization to eliminate low-margin drag.
Analytics Expertise
Our analytics cover revenue, margin, and volume trends by product type, location, and customer segment; price volume mix; customer and product cohort behavior; customer and revenue retention; pricing and order metrics including ASP and AOV; SKU rationalization; and cross-sell analysis.

News: Timely Intelligence on What Matters the Most
Why 47.5 Is a Scary Number for East Coast Ports
After an unusually dry rainy season lowered Gatun Lake, the Panama Canal is preparing to reduce allowable ship draft from 49.5 feet to 47.5 feet by early September. Neopanamax vessels need roughly 50 feet to operate at full capacity, so ships may have to carry less cargo; carriers have already introduced Canal-related surcharges, and some Asia-to-East Coast cargo could shift to West Coast ports and rail. This is the kind of natural-occurrence story I think belongs in the Blue Ops feed: a seemingly obscure water-level change that can translate directly into vessel payload, routing decisions, freight surcharges, transit time and landed cost.
Cyberattack Slows Operations at North Carolina’s Three Ports
A cyberattack caused a systems-wide outage affecting the Port of Wilmington, Port of Morehead City and Charlotte Inland Port, delaying gate operations while the authority moved into recovery. Wilmington alone typically handles more than 5,000 container-gate moves per week, while the state's ports are significant gateways for agriculture, forestry and building materials. For distributors, this makes cyber risk very tangible: an attack against someone else's IT environment can suddenly become your truck delay, missed inbound delivery, inventory problem or customer-service failure.
Hillman Makes $315M Master Distribution Entry With Kanebridge Deal
Hillman is acquiring Kanebridge for $315 million, giving the fastener and hardware company its first U.S. industrial master-distribution platform. Kanebridge carries more than 44,000 commercial and military fastener SKUs, sells exclusively through distributors and provides same-day fulfillment; Hillman estimates the acquisition expands its industrial addressable market by roughly $1 billion. What makes this particularly interesting is the strategic shift: rather than adding another product line, Hillman is buying an upstream distribution platform — creating cross-selling and sourcing opportunities but also a real channel-management challenge as it balances distributor relationships against its own direct-market presence.
The Trucking Market Is Tighter Than It’s Been in Years
Tighter trucking capacity, rising fuel costs and renewed competition for qualified drivers are putting pressure back into freight markets. Distributors that became accustomed to excess transportation capacity may need to revisit freight assumptions, service commitments and pricing before higher logistics costs become embedded in margins.
Truckload and LTL Rates Expected to Hit New Highs in Q3
Both truckload and less-than-truckload pricing moved to new cycle highs in the second quarter, with additional increases expected as capacity tightens and diesel costs pressure carrier economics. Distribution companies should treat this as more than a transportation-budget issue: sustained freight inflation can affect customer profitability, network design, inventory positioning and the economics of service-level commitments.
