Overcoming Common Challenges
If your underlying data feels too messy for the market, you aren’t alone. We routinely solve the industry’s most common data hurdles:
- Siloed Systems: Disparate data scattered across field-management tools, scheduling software, and accounting platforms with little to no integration.
- Granular Margin Blindspots: Inconsistent margin tracking across different service types, locations, branches, or regions.
-
Hidden Customer Dynamics: Unclear customer lifetime values (LTV), customer acquisition costs (CAC), and unmapped churn drivers.
- Messy SKUs & Scheduling: Poorly rationalized, categorized, or tagged SKUs, along with inaccurate tracking of promotional offers, discounts, and loyalty programs.
Extremely helpful work. Couldn't have done it without you.

News: Timely Intelligence on What Matters the Most
Airbnb Continues Hotel Push: ‘Stepping on the Gas’
Hotels still represent only a single-digit share of Airbnb nights, but that business is now growing three times as fast as Airbnb's core homes business, and the company is expanding beyond markets where traditional Airbnb supply is constrained. Airbnb recently partnered with boutique operator Lark to add more than 75 properties, while 35% of first-time hotel guests later returned to book a home. For hotel and travel operators, this is a potentially important channel shift: Airbnb is moving from being an alternative to hotels toward becoming a hotel-distribution platform — putting another powerful intermediary between operators and their customers.
Augustus Aims to Speed Payments
The FDIC approved deposit insurance for startup Augustus as it works toward launching a bank built around faster, programmable dollar settlement rather than traditional correspondent-banking infrastructure. Its proposed services include deposits, lending, treasury and digital-asset payments, while subsidiary Juno Moneta plans stablecoin issuance, custody, conversion and payment functionality; Augustus still needs Federal Reserve approval and must launch with at least $73.66 million in capital. The story caught our eye because this is not a fintech merely building an app on top of a bank — it is attempting to build the regulated banking infrastructure itself around a fundamentally different payment architecture.
Report: Demand Is Heating Up for Energy-Based Aesthetic Devices
The U.S. market for lasers, radiofrequency, IPL, ultrasound and other energy-based aesthetic devices is projected to grow from $2.7 billion in 2026 to $8.9 billion by 2036, while an entirely new demand category is emerging around patients experiencing skin laxity after significant GLP-1-related weight loss. The report estimates that GLP-1 users alone could represent a $2 billion procedure opportunity by 2030 and also points to continued private-equity investment in med spas and dermatology practices. This is an interesting convergence of consumer behavior, pharmaceutical innovation, capital equipment and PE consolidation — and could change both the service mix and capital requirements of the med-spa business.
Why a Modest U.S. Interest Rate Rise Won’t Change Much for Most Businesses
The debate around the next interest-rate move may generate enormous attention, but a modest change is unlikely to fundamentally alter the economics of most established businesses overnight. For franchise leaders, the more important questions remain access to credit, debt structure, franchisee financial health and whether financing conditions are preventing otherwise viable operators from investing or expanding.
Preliminary July Consumer Sentiment Results
Consumer sentiment improved sharply in July, rising nearly 10% from June, but remains almost 12% below its level a year ago. Retailers therefore face a consumer who may be feeling somewhat better at the margin without yet feeling genuinely confident—a distinction that argues for continued caution around discretionary demand and second-half forecasts.
Small Business Optimism Picks Up in June
Small-business optimism improved meaningfully in June, with expectations for future sales and business conditions strengthening and planned capital investment reaching its highest level of the year. Yet persistent hiring difficulty, elevated interest rates and continued uncertainty suggest franchise operators may be becoming more optimistic without becoming indiscriminate about expansion.
